Calling all Heart Families |

Calling all Heart Families Chad and I met with the Florida's Blood Centers (FBC) Donor Development Coordinator last week and discussed how many of our children receive blood products when they have surgery. The FBC is VERY interested in working with us, and would like to know if there are any families who would like to give a testimony about their child receiving blood. If there are enough families willing to do so, they are going to try and rent out a conference room at one of the hotels in Viera, cater dinner and provide media coverage of the event. If this is something that we could get enough people in on, I really think this would help get awareness of CHD out there… Not a lot of people know that CHD takes more of our children than all childhood cancers combined. If you are interested, please email me and let me know so I can contact FBC and let them know how many families we have that are willing to participate. Please help us get awareness out. This is a big step in involving the community and I think it will help raise the needed awareness of CHD. Thanks! |

Body Shop at Home Party 20% to MLH |

Mended Little Hearts of the Space Coast will be having a Chocolate & Strawberries Body Shop at Home Party on October 24th from 7pm-9pm. Shawn Alexander (the Body Shop at Home Consultant) will donate 20% of all sales to Mended Little Hearts of the Space Coast. We would love for all of you to come out and support us. If you are unable to attend the party, you can still support MLH by buying on-line and referencing MLH. We are very excited to have the opportunity to work with Shawn Alexander. She is so generous as to offer 20% of her own profits to us. Please feel free to forward this information on to anyone who you think would be interested!! I wanted let you all that the location for our meeting has changed. We ran into a problem with the Viera Pro Health, so we will be moving our meeting to Chad's (our Co-coordinator) work for this month. We are still trying to find a place that will allow us to meet monthly and will allow us to bring our children. The new location will be in Rockledge (so not much farther than Viera). Below is the address and directions. The date and time will stay the same (October 22 @ 6:30pm). Address: 1006 Pathfinder Way, Rockledge, FL 32955 From US1: Head West on Eyester. Turn right on Pathfinder Way . It will be the last building on the left hand side. Company Name: Perfect Meetings. | | | Just wanted to let you all know that we have scheduled our 1st meeting for October 22nd at 6:30pm. We will be holding the meeting at the Viera Pro Health located at 8705 N. Wickham Rd., Viera, FL 32940. Your children are allowed to come, but there will be no child care provided. Also, we ask that if you have a sick child that you do not bring them. We do not want any of the other children getting sick!! We are very excited to be holding our 1st meeting!! Gus Littlefield (Southern Regional Director of Mended Hearts, Inc.) will be presenting us with our charter! We are very thankful that Gus has agreed to do this for us! Please let us know as soon as possible if you will be able to attend. We would love for everyone to come out and support us! We look forward to seeing you all there!

Brevard Buddy Walk Oct. 25th, 2008 |

Mended Little Hearts of the Space Coast will be participating in the Brevard Buddy Walk on October 25, 2008. Families Exploring Down Syndrome of Brevard (FEDS) will be hosting the Sixth Annual Brevard Buddy Walk in beautiful Riverfront Park on Saturday, October 25, 2008. Schedule of Events: 8:00am - Walker Check in; turn in pledge form and donations, pre-walk warm up. 9:00am - Buddy Walk 2008 begins! 9:30am - Door prizes and awards! 10:00am - 12:00pm - Face painting, clowns, food, entertainment and pony rides. What does a Buddy Walker Do? Step 1: Complete the Registration (Walkers may register the morning of the walk). Step 2: Raise Pledges! (Pledge minimum of $15 per family). Step 3: Spread the Word! (Invite others to walk with you). Step 4: Turn in Your Pledges! (Collect the donations from those who agree to support you. Turn in donations by 9:00am the day of the event).
